Growers first, merchants second

Honorie isn’t a conventional négociant. It starts from the craft of growing wine, and that’s where its credibility comes from: they don’t simply select wines, they bring a technical, committed eye to every terroir. From the Anjou to the Pays Nantais, from the Touraine to the Centre.

The name comes from the Loire itself — that kingly river whose every nuance they want to explore.

The same people, two projects

Behind Honorie are Hadrien Boucard and Erwan Leteurte, the same pair who work their own Domaine du Trait in Crouzilles with a draught horse. There, they are growers, on their own parcels. At Honorie, they are selectors: they travel the Loire and create, with grower friends, wines that share the same philosophy. The estate is the beating heart; Honorie is the journey around it.

Conversations between growers

The Honorie range grows out of those conversations. No superfluous cuvée names: only the appellation and the name of the partner grower, honoured on every label. That gives you a Saumur-Champigny from Terre des Carmes, an Anjou Blanc from Château de Brizé and a carbonic-macerated Chinon from la Pointevinière. Modern, generous, crunchy wines where the hand of the winemaker disappears behind the fruit.

The Escales

Then there are the Escales: the loves of the moment. Small volumes and limited runs, turned up while wandering through the Loire’s famous and forgotten appellations alike — Coteaux du Giennois, Quincy, Pouilly-Fumé. And occasionally further afield: a Moulin-à-Vent from forty-year-old Gamay on pink granite gets to come along too, even if it sits a long way from the river.
