Wine as play
Jeux de Vins started in 2020 in a small cellar on the edge of Rosheim. Behind the project is Julien Albertus — already well known as the winemaker of Domaine Kumpf et Meyer — who needed a freer playground alongside the family estate. The name says it all: this is where playing is allowed.
A négoce with principles
Jeux de Vins is a négoce project, but a strict one. Julien works only with organic and biodynamic growers who farm wonderful grapes but don’t make wine themselves. They focus on healthy vineyards and living soils, and he translates the fruit in the cellar.
In the cellar
Spontaneous fermentations, no additions apart from a minimal dose of sulphur at bottling, and as little intervention as possible. The result: lively, juicy wines that let the Alsace terroir speak without the classic Alsatian bombast.
The style
Glouglou wines that invite you to drink rather than study. Bright, crisp whites from Riesling, Pinot Blanc or Auxerrois, the occasional skin-contact cuvée, and now and then a pétillant naturel. Always with that signature Albertus precision, just a little looser than the Kumpf Meyer wines.
