About Glou
Glou is a natural wine shop in Ostend. We seek out wines from small producers who work with respect for nature — honestly made, alive in the glass, with a story behind every bottle.
How it started
Glou grew out of a simple love: for living, honest wine. Wine that tastes of the place where the grapes grew and of the people who made it. No industrial uniformity, but character, energy, and the occasional surprise.
What began as curiosity became a carefully curated selection of natural wines that we genuinely enjoy uncorking ourselves — at the table, with friends, or just on an ordinary Tuesday.
What is natural wine?
Natural wine is made with as little intervention as possible. The grapes are grown organically or biodynamically, hand-harvested, and fermented spontaneously with the native yeasts found on the grape itself. In the cellar, few or no additions are used — at most a touch of sulphur, often nothing at all.
The result? Wine that’s alive. Sometimes a little rough around the edges, always authentic, and never boring.
Our selection
We choose every wine ourselves, bottle by bottle, based on taste and the maker’s story. We work with small producers from all over Europe — from Alsace to Piedmont — who respect their land and their grapes.
