Pink Ray

David Amling

€ 20

Grapes: Bacchus, Pinot Gris
Country: Germany
Region: Franconia
Description

Pinot Gris and Bacchus with 7 days of maceration, so yes: this is moving towards an orange wine, but in its own playful way. Pink Ray is somewhere between a rosé and an orange wine – and that’s what makes it so interesting.

Spontaneously fermented in a new tonneau and then 12 months sur lie, which provides extra depth and a soft, rounded structure. Naturally 0/0, so nothing added, nothing removed.

With its 12% alcohol, it remains beautifully balanced: enough body, but still fresh enough to keep drinking.

Taste profile

Stone fruit, some citrus, light tannins from the skin contact and a small spicy edge. Dry, soft and with a lovely texture.
