Nonnengarten

Nonnengarten is a little-known, fully south-facing steep slope on iron-rich slate – the natural continuation of the Marienburg, right by Pünderich. The name recalls the nuns of the Marienburg convent, who once tended the vines here. Today it is the estate's Erste Lage: hand-picked, spontaneously fermented in old Fuder casks and around ten months on the lees.

The typical smoky, floral Busch nose, with grapefruit, bergamot, ginger and wet stone. Taut and juicy on the palate, with a fine creaminess, precise citrus and a layered, mineral finish. Delicious now, but will easily keep for ten years.
