At barely one hectare, Fahrlay is the estate's smallest plot and the only one dominated by blue slate. On this hard rock the 50 to 115-year-old vines have to root deep. Hand-picked, spontaneously fermented in Fuder casks and kept on the lees until bottling.

Bergamot, white petals and lime zest on the nose. Cool and powerful, with that typical saline finish. Give it time. Parker 94, Mosel Fine Wines 95, Vinum 96.
