Marienburg Rothenpfad GG

Rothenpfad is an extremely steep plot within the Marienburg, above the railway viaduct, on loose, weathered red slate. The vines are at least 90 years old and trained on traditional single Mosel poles. Spontaneously fermented in old Fuder casks and kept on the lees until bottling.
Restrained at first, then smoke, yellow peach, thyme, mint, plum and apricot. Juicy and smooth, yet intense, with a very long finish. A GG on the richer side.
